I have been busy getting things organized here and there (Chores really) My secre pal has spoiled me by sending a great pattern for sock monkeys I love it! I have the sp thing figured out. My pal is also my unknow(not any more) pal. And the funny part is that she is also my partner for the pet swap!!! I also joined the purse swap and if I am paired with her there then God must want us to be pals lol!!!
I am finishing up some prijects right now like a piggie and a bear for the nursing home bingo. I am blitzin away making hats and stuff. and I am almost out of stash yarn!!!!!! How totally awesome is me!!!!
My family is doing better and the weather has been warmer. At last!!!!

Today it has been sooooo cold all ya wanna do is stay inside and crochet!!! Sounds great!!! I finished testing some patterns for stormy at crochetville. I love the skunk! Photos soon! I started a set of mittens for the charity blitz. I made them blue for boys BUT the trim seems awfully girlly!!! May have to change that! I am looking to make a bed doll for a charity raffle BUT cant decide on any patterns! Oh well. I am 3 rows into the checkered flag gahn I am making This thing is going to be ENORMOUS!!! Just thought Id check in and ramble a bit! All is well in my corner of the world!

I can not believe a month ago I promised updates and photos. Well once again sickness struck our house and I had a bad bought with broncitus. I am doing much better now and will (God willing) have some photos to share soon.
Afgahns for Amegios update!!! Sqs sqs and yes more sqs have been being joined by 2 great ladies my mom first of all who does not crochet has taken to the task of joining sqs God bless her!!! Then one day she decided she too needed to learn to do a boarder so that her gahns look finished and low and behold she is doing a very simple boarder of HDC around her gahns! The second wonderful lady I met just after the holidays and she is a crocheting machine!!! i bring her a box of sqs one sunday and the next she wants to trade the gahns for sqs I mean she is doing 6 gahns a week boarder and all. Linda you are truely a God sent and we appreciate all your hard work!
Family update!!! My dad had to have yet another stent put into his heart this past week. He is worried there will soon be no where else to go with a stent. He will be 74 on Sat. Happy Birthday PAP!!!! The kids are recovering from flu like symptoms and hubby and I are recovering from broncitius!
Traveling hook update!!!! Shes traveling thru the great state of Texas!!! I think Drew has her now!!! I can not wait to see the beautiful sqs he creates with that awesome hook. I figure we will be finishing up sometime this summer thats a great time to assemble an afgahn????
CAL Update! Well the stole I was working on is still lying in the basket with 2 rows done on it!!!! Hunh!!!! The argumi along I can say I am done but hey those critters are so stinkin cute ya just cant quit making them. The bedspread CAl is comeing along great I have almost the third row done!!!
SP SWAP! I got me a secret pal and I dont know who she is! I am not tring to figure it out since the last swap I did was accidently revieled and I really wanted to be surprized! I dont think my partner knows who I am at least I hope I didnt sign my name to any thing!!!

Please leave our kids alone !!! I am writting in protest of recent bulling my 12 yr old is suffering! This form of girl bulling is not thought of as such but it is what it is. Until Aug. of 2006 my children were homeschooled and did not have to learn the school thing until now. A girl my daughter befriended at the beginning of the school year has turned on her not wanting to be her friend/teasing etc... So from us moms we say Bullies leave our kids alone. We will not stand for it or tollerate it. PLAY NICE!!!!

Yep eventhough I am trying to destash I went shopping today. I was pretty good I think I got only 9 skeins of Red Heart and one peaches and cream. I was only getting 4 skeins untill this voice of reason (my husband) said go ahead Ill give you $10 more. lol
Its ok because I am making berevment blankets for the Feb Blitz. Caps and fingerless gloves for the troops,and cancer caps. So the yarn is all being used for a great cause! Ok I am just rationalizing now arent I.
I was working on a WIP and the doll just needs hair and one more shoe to be finished. Phew thats one I never ever thought Id finish. Next WIP to bite the dust is the blue childs pullover sweater I am making for the Community fair in Sept. Plenty of time right. Yeah right It was sopose to be finished for last years fair.
After that who knows.
After all what would the world be like with out yarn junkies in it?

Guess what? Yesterday I ran to my mom's for a visit with the kids having a day off it was a good day to go. As most of you know she helps with sqs for the amegios project. Well she does not crochet she just whips the sqs together and I do a boarder. So I picked up 2 yesterday and the surprise is she crocheted a boarder herself on the 2 she did. I am real proud of her. Now all she needs to learn is a basic granny and I'll be in good shape. lol
Its been cold today and a few snowflakes were flying outside. I dont think we are gonna get much!
I have been working on my BedSpread bonanza from over at the Ville. I have a full row done and have a bunch of white sqs done. I am doing a checkered flag for the race driver/fan in my extended family.
My step-dad asked for more rows to be added to the gahn I made for his bed. Its a twin size Mile-A-Minute gahn. So maybe he will get 2 more rows.
I want to work on my doll tonight to try and get another WIP done. She needs sleves/bloomers/and the rest of her hair added on. I started this one to enter into the fair.I have a whole list of junk to do for the fair.

Well Its my plan to do a few craft sales this year. My friend Linda and I are gonna do some stuff together. If all goes well maybe we will do the Hegins craft sale in the fall. Its a bit more costly but hey they get LARGE crowds.
I have been getting RAOKed with some sqs to make myself a afgahn. One even from Canada!!! Thanks a ton.
I am sending my Jan blitz package this week and have 3 blankies done so far for Feb. I have also been working on cancer caps and some items for operation tosty toes for the soldigers.

Ok so I am VERY behind on blogging Sorry Alot has happened and I am not sure where to begin!
Update on my dad
Some of you know he was sick after Christmas and needed stents replaced in his heart. Hid blood count is now coming back to where it should be and he is still weak but recovering. He gave us all quite a scare.
Crochet
I cleaned out one of my many yarn cabinets yesterday and found about 10 projects that need finished so I am working on some WIPs. I joind a few CALs at the ville already including the Ripple along I am doing a round ripple to enter in the fair and then it will go to the Afgahns for Amegios project. I joined the BedSpread Bonanza. I am making a queen size checkered flad for my step-brothers son and soon to be new wife. He drives race cars! I joined and finished the scarf CAL (photos soon coming)

Well since I have been back from Mexico I had a bad case of the bathroom friendlies(I did not ask for that blessing) and on this past wenesday I had surgery to fix some women troubles. I have not recovered as fast as others who have had the same procedure but I have always had trouble down there!
As for crochet I have been very bust making Christmas gifts. I know I am WAYYYYYYYYY behind on blogging and will try sooooo hard to get photos up from our trip asap!!!!

Here I am busy busy here in PA but in a few weeks we are headed to Mexico for another mission project!!!! We are building for a family this time Ricardo and Guadalupee. And they have 3 children!!!
Crocheting has been a bit slow since I have a million Ok not a million but 2 thousand+ sqs from my friends a the ville. They are being whipped up into gahns for us to bring to Mexico!

Due to my lacking computer that seems to be still having trouble I have been absent. First I wish to appologize to my friends at crochetmania. Since my puter went down I have been unable to access the web site as well as others. I have let swap obligations suffer and have been unable to say why here on my blog as it was too unaccessable to me. I was unable to email from the library as they do not allow emailing there(long story) I have let some of you down with the mysterybox which is safely in my care and will be mailed by next week. I also have not sent my tote not kitchen items which also shall be in the mail by next week. To my partners who have had to wait I truely from my heart am sorry. This computer thing has eatten up my spare money that I use for shipping.
Next I wish to appologize to Lucy @ calPals who I have not sent cards to as I should and am sorry. Your cards were lovely and I am just a slacker with a lot on my plate right now. Also my obligation for the survivor was also badly interrupted there when the package I sent with a beautiful towl and wash cloths was eaten by the post office machines and un salvageable. I also am sorry for any other obligations there I may have missed.
Lastly for the pass the sq people who signed up and started to work sqs and sent them to me I also must appologize. when I got sick my husband packed up some items and the sqs was one of those and when cleaning I found them. I have 2 sqs here that need passed however it seems a bust and no one has asked questions except one person. the sqs I have I will add my rows and return them to the original owner for you to finish up.
Too all my friends I am sorry I have not pulled my weight. I am the weakest link today and I appologize. I sincerly mean that and hope we can all still be buddies.

Doctor report

Yep its an infection in my throat and tonsils. Yucky Besides a 102 fever I was achey all over which doc says is the infection working on the rest of me. So for me I am off to bed as plenty of fluids and rest were prescribed as well as antibiotics.

My life whats new whats wrong and maybe some good

Oh boy where shall I start. Lets talk crochet! I am finishing my sqs for the sq swap so I can send them and be done. For each sq I made one to keep and one to send so instead of 12 sqs I will have 24 making a bigger gahn right? Maybe 2 small ones? Didnt decide yet. I then need to REORGANIZE all my stuff it is everywhere. I am finishing my 35 sq gahn for the community fair. We have mostly quilters in my area so I dont really know who my competiton will be as this is the first one I am entering. I made the sqs in cream and am edging in a beautiful varrigated RED HEART called Spice. Found it at the local(35 miles away) Ben Franklin.
Now for a personal note besides being horrible sick for the 3rd day I got news that a niece attempted suicide. This has been heart breaking among some family members including my mom. My nephew went and eloped just a few months before his sister was set to be married in Germany. Hunh Go figure!
Our Motor home has been listed on ebay. I am happy and sad. I like the traveling in it and all but for now our mission work requires flying so it is being unused.
Yesterday we hit Walmart for some very early back to school bargins. As some of you know for 8 + years I have homeschooled. A few months ago my dd sprung a bomb on me. She said "mom I wanna be a nurse" at 11 thats a big decision so we did the normal homeschool thing and researched it and she spent time at work with a nurse whish just assured her decission. So now I am a fairly intellegent woman and spoke to her about going to school. She loved the idea and sadly so did my 2 sons. lol So now this year all 3 are going to Tri Valley(go DAWGS) There was s different feeling shopping for going to school stuff than there was a year ago when we were buying homeschool stuff. First I am not scouring the internet looking for books. So I am already starting to see some free time. What do you sopose I will do with my free time? hummm I just dont know. I have been thinking of getting a real estate licence.
So thats about whats new. And again my buttons are on the floor. I sure wish they'd stay on the side where they belong. This is an ongoing problem for me lol if thats my biggest problem I got no problems

I got these rolls of strips of material at a second hand store. It seems like what is used as binding or edging. Anywho! I am gonna try to crochet with it anyone ever try that? Well I am gonna. My mother in law really liked the towl toppers and I thought Id try my own towl/topper with this stuff. By the way I got 6 rolls for a buck! What a deal!! Pass the sq getting started

Ok ladies today we start!!!! You all should start by making a 12 inch sq. Then you should pass the sq to the person under your name on the address list I will email you all later today. Note you will always pass the sq you are working on to the same person. When the sq is recieved you should add a minimum of 8 rounds to the sq.There are 9 people working so when you get the 9th sq thatone is yours and you add as many rows/rounds as you like. I am asking you to put a tag on the sq with your name and addy so you know who had this gahn and for well I just like the info on this friendship quilt. Today was just another sat. so far! I am a bit excited about the recent DVD purchase of "The man who shot liberty vallance" Staring John Wayne and James Stewart. I love the old John Wayne classics I like them when I crochet. It also id my hubby's fav movies also. I am a sq and a half away from being done with the scrap gahn CAL. It will be a beauty that I will take along to Mexico in November. Ive been a bit busy with summer day stuff and tomorrow my middle sone turns 10! Boy do they grow fast! Well today I had to run miles to the doc to find out my little guy has pink eye and on the weekend we had so many parties to go to. erggg and then wait until meds were ready ughhh I need my hook to relax! On top I barely slept last night because of our visitor my moms Boston terrier is here for a week and the 2 of them together hummmm no sleep they are bed hogs! and her dog snores!!
and a bit ago my hubby killed our 2nd copperhead snake for the season this is the 3rd snake this year. While dont get me wrong I love it here in the country but these creatures can move out and I wont cry! Busy busy I have to move the washer and dryer tomorrow because of the mouse that has evaded traps for days is living under there we know because we saw him! And moma says he can not stay!
So thats it like an alcoholic needs a beer I need some homespun and a hook and away will go my cares for the night! John Wayne here I come!

I love getting RAOKED and SWAPS all that fun jazz to spice up crochet. Well my post man(actually its a very nice lady God bless her) hasnt brought me anything this past week and It makes me sad. So sad I sent out 2 yes 2 RAOKs and 2 of my swaps. Maybe she will be nice this week. I live at the end of the line (the campground it farther but he do they really count) And my post lady is always in such a good mood when she stops. If she toots her horn I get so excited and so do my children. That means she has a package that wont fit(I love those) Yippeeee

Today I finished up my Dawn purse by the crochet dude !!! Love it Using it!! wanta another (or 5) Great pattern except for a type O I found which reminds me I need to send him a message. I chose blue and white (my favorite colors which also are my high school colors)

We are busy making plans for the return trip to Mexico in November and I am struggling to find a use for this (what seems to be industrial stregnth cord) Yarn. Not really sure its yarn to be honest and I am not so sure I will really want another new project making rugs. If any body wants to make a rug or 2 for our missions in Mexico Id be glad to send this stuff so you could do it! lol

I am about to have my life completely changed the 3 children I love and homeschooled for all their lives have decided (with the approval of Us) they want to go to school. Hummm A whole day with out school work what ever shall I do? Hummm probably clean my house really good and then CROCHET!!!! I have been thinking of job hunting but again maybe I will make crafts and go to markets. Here in PA we have 1 on a weneday, a thursday and ones that go all weekend long. So maybe................... humm!!!

I guess thats about all for now!! I need to hop to it and work on my SIL afgahn her wedding is 3 weeks away and I just started ummmm ok I admit I didnt start yet. Guess I better get my hook in gear!!!

Hey heres whats new in my corner of PA

Well since our return from Mexico I have been busy with a capitol B writting a newsletter printing photos and visiting churches and if that were not enough ministry we are planning a trip to West VA and Missouri this summer and another trip into Mexico this fall. Phew!
This leaves little time for crochet. I have joined a few swaps and am in some CALs too. Busy busy. This fall my children will go to Public school rather then homeschool. So I will have lots of free time "what to do what to do?"
I know Crochet!!!!
I am also co-ordinating the traveling hook. Wow I am a busy lady!
Most importantly for the month of June The blitzers are working on cancer caps and I am donating 2 cents for every hat donated 1 cent for American cancer society and 1 cent for breast cancer research So bust my piggy bank ladies its for a great cause!!
Crocheting helps me stay sane! lol

I work with a group Online angels and the lady who runs it is such a sweetie and is so unselfish that we decided to make her a love gahn!! So I only made one square in this gahn but I stitched it and put the boarder on. Its for Christmas!!!

To ME!!! Today is my anneversary!! Larry and I have been married for 13 years today!! And oddly enough the day was very similar to today weather wise here in PA! Overcast and threatening rain!!! It actually did rain in the afternoon!!! I am still in love more than ever than the day I got married. And I would do it all again in a minute. In fact in April when we were in Mexico we renewed our vowes with our team right on the street. That was cool. SO I actually do have 2 wedding rings!!!

On making those beautiful buttons appear on my blog. I am done for now until someone takes pity on me and helps!!!
I started this blog si I could add patterns and give the scoup on my crochet projects I have somehow some where gotten off course!!!
But that is me when I want something I will loose sleep until I can do it. I do love a challenge!!!!
I am involved in several crochet alongs and am trying to get my photos to photo bucket and then here that is another trial I cant seem to blog my pictures either I need serious help people!~!!
